During Christmas eve, an old stray cat, who's owner had previously passed away, and we had been taking care of him and giving him love and care, when his health started to decline, and the people who were supposed to look after him, and took him on did not help him, they contacted this vet, for advice and help, use said you would come out and euthanize him, without checking him, or even considering helping. I know its hard as he was once previously owned cat and he is old, but we loved him soo much, and we were treated by the vets that came out ( Gourley) with no compassion and the people were so abrupt and rude. We know Ozzy deserve better we wanted to get him treatment, but when they came out they said he's going and being pts and the lady was so rude when we're already struggling emotionally, there was no compassion, its hard because he could've had some treatment but as the neighbours rung use, you treated Ozzy with no compassion or love and the people who came to get him the lady was so rude to us, whilst we're struggling to cope with losing him as we've care and looked after him and we wanted him to be helped, felt like they didn't care about the animal just wanted to get rid of him.😭💔 we're absolutely heartbroken we would've taken and met his needs but the lady said there be no vets open to weekend and that they'd euthanize him, no ashes, and just basically thrown away😭 were heartbroken- RIP Ozzy😭😭😞

During my cat's annual check up I mentioned I was concerned he had lost too much weight. I was told it was fine and he needed to lose more. We were then casually advised to get him plaque off for his teeth. Two months later we had to say goodbye to him. After the fact I found out that plaque off is dangerous for cats with hyperthyroidism (a sign of which is losing weight too quickly) and can exacerbate diabetes. He officially died of uncontrolled diabetes, but had also in retrospect shown signs of hyperthyroidism too. He went downhill so qiickly after we gave him aque off. Please, please don't so casually suggest plaque off. I will forever be heartbroken that the condition we didn't know he had had been sped up by something I was told to give him.

We took our nervous dog who had a painful ear infection. The vet was fantastic. He was compassionate, gentle and very understanding of our nervous dog. He also did not try to upsell anything we didn't need and advised where we could buy ear cleaner online. Thank you to Mr Mossford and the team. I would highly recommend this vet practice.

Our appt today was to review from an initial assessment. We have been so impressed with the thoroughness of the care from Gourley Denton, kind, professional care from Kurt and team. Friendly professional Reception. We have become members at this practice as we are so pleased with their care.

In the last few months my family have sent two male kittens to be castrated and chipped. Both came out with injuries. A spinal injury that has that has taken ages and it still getting better. The other cat an eye injury as he somehow managed to scratch the iris on his eye. After the spinal injury which was caused by them using epidurals and catching a nerve on the spine. I asked how they were going to sedate the second cat and I was told it would be a cannula above his paw. But I got him back and there was not shave mark on his fur so I was straight up lied to. To confound it all they tried to overcharge me after injuring my cat. My family will never use this vet again as we fear for our cats safety in their overpriced hands

Receptionist was rude and ambivalent. I used to go to the Stalybridge branch and had fantastic service and very friendly staff. Since they closed that surgery I started to go to Ashton surgery. The staff there are never very friendly. I called to order my dogs regular flee tick treatment and asked to pick it up the following day after 5pm. She said she couldn't guarantee it would be ready as a vet had to sign off and they may be to busy. They require 72 hours. What nonsense. Stalybridge would have it ready the same day. She said she would send a text when it was ready. They sent it 3 days later, knowing I would only be in town on the day I asked to pick it up. This practice seems to care less about your animal then they do about overbooking the number of patients. Very disappointed

Many thanks to all at the Ashton surgery for their timely help with the feral cat caught in our neighbour's fox trap. No one else could offer us any help so we really appreciate your putting yourselves out for him. We are glad to be able to report that we have seen him since his release (visiting our cat-nip plants!) and, thanks to you, he seems to be in great health.

We signed up with this vets as it was local and it was a huge mistake. We took our minature dachshund in 3 times and she left worse than she went in on 2 occasions due to overdosage from them! They gave us flee treatment for a large dog with a weight of 10kg-20kg when our dog only weighs 5kg. We gave her the treatment and when I noticed how much there was I rang the vets and they were very worried and told us to wash it off in the bath immediately. Another time they gave us flea and worming treatment and told us to go home and give them at the same time. Our dog got extremely sick vomiting and not eating or drinking for days on end. Turns out that you cannot give tiny puppies both at the same time as it overwhelms them and makes them ill. No apologies from them at all, just a £100 bill for probiotics and anti-sickness injection for sickness that THEY CAUSED! So, like I said, 2 out of 3 visits they over-dosed our dog leaving her worse off than when she arrived. We thankfully were able to leave this vets and go to another which has been a lot better and cheaper too. Never again!
