Bay Vets Ltd, located in Lancaster, is a veterinary practice known for its emergency services and as a veterinary nurse training facility. The clinic holds a Google Maps rating of 4.1 stars based on 62 reviews, suggesting a generally positive experience among clients, though with some variability.
The reviews highlight several positive experiences, particularly appreciating the professionalism and expertise of the staff. For instance, Colin, a surgeon at the clinic, is frequently mentioned for his skill and compassion. One reviewer, Hollie Everton, praised Colin for saving her dog's life through major surgery and providing excellent aftercare. Similarly, Ben S noted Colin's effective treatment of his Spaniel's broken elbow, emphasizing the quick service and cost savings compared to other options. The reception staff and veterinary nurses also receive commendations for their friendliness and helpfulness.
However, not all feedback is positive. A less favorable review by Roxanne Hammond expresses dissatisfaction with the clinic's handling of her dog's serious condition, describing the setting and consultation process as unprofessional, though she did note the kindness of nurse Laura and vet Alice.
Overall, while Bay Vets Ltd offers critical medical interventions and is praised for its staff's dedication and expertise, especially in complex cases, there is some criticism regarding certain aspects of their service delivery. Colin, his team and the reception staff where great with me an my girl. Colin saved my girls life at the beginning of this week with a major surgery and aftercare she received, explained everything fully an in a way I could fully understand what was going on in her body . He identified the issue after previously being misdiagnosed at 2 other vet practices, and acted quickly resulting in my girl having the best chance she could at a full recovery. Explained everything he did, why he did so and his nurse sat and explained her aftercare in great detail, leaving nothing out . The receptionists where super friendly an very helpful. Thanks so much to all of you there your all our answer to prayer. She wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you an the great care she received ! I'm beyond greatful an so is our Queen Esther ! ❤️🥰 Thankyou 🙏

If I could leave minus stars I would, took my older dog today with an infected womb, the place would make a third world vets appear elite, there were people saying their final goodbyes on the lawn next to an already dead dog, I was consulted in the waiting room about my dog and how serious her condition was and when I chose to end her suffering they asked could they buy her for £1 and find a charity to pay so they could operate. Avoid at all costs if you love your pet, have feelings or would prefer a professional opinion. Only positive the vet nurse Laura was lovely and gave me time to make my decision and also Alice the vet who put her out of her misery, the initial vet was so terrible I don't even know her name.

Thank you for the fur and paw prints from Peach prior to her cremation. It was a massive shock however the staff were amazing with us. They’ve always been great with peach - She’s been with them since she was a kitten.

My Spaniel Buzz broke his elbow and was ultimately treated at Bay Vets. My vet's main referral partner could not operate for 2-3 days, so I decided to call Bay vets as an alternative and they managed to get him in the very next day and with a saving of a third. Colin the surgeon was fantastic, explained the pre-op and post-op very well and it appears has done an excellent job with Buzz, he is already placing a little bit of weight on the impacted leg and the wound etc looks very tidy. Well done guys, it's not a situation pet or owner likes to be in but you made it as smooth as possible.
