#2 Vet in Burnley, Lancashire
- Vets/staff often explain issues and options clearly, with owners calling the advice helpful. - Handling and demeanour with dogs is a repeated point: patience is mentioned, as well as offering treats and encouraging dogs to come in for positive experiences. - Sensitive appointments: one detailed review describes compassionate, clear communication during a pet’s final visit.

I never thought I would be writing a negative review about a vetinary practice, who are meant to help save and make pets better, but unfortunately this is what I've had to do because I don't want anyone else to have go through this without any knowledge being given by the practice themselves. The thing is what they don't tell you is, if you have been with this practice with your pet from being a baby, if you haven't been to them in like over a year to 18 months, they actually strike you off without telling you. So when an emergency appointment is needed, they tell you to go elsewhere, which tells me, they want your pet to be ill every few months to make money out of you, I mean "WOW REALLY" who does that to actually strike you off cause your pet isn't ill regularly 😢. Just imagine if you've not been to see your Dr for a few years, you go to make an appointment and you've been struck off for not being ill regularly enough. In my eyes you are paying for a service for your pet to be taken care of when they actually need you and you built a trust with your veterinary practice in hopes they will be there for you and your pet when you need them and unfortunately you wasn't, so I have had to book in somewhere else, where he doesn't know the vet. I hope you start letting your customers know well in advance where they stand, as to wether they have a vet to go to or not. I wish you well

Had to take our collie to the Burnley practice, this morning, and kind of knew that we wouldn't be bringing him home. We don't know the name of the vet who dealt with us, a really young guy, who was lovely to deal with. He was gentle and kind with our dog, and sympathetic, respectful and clear with his explanations to us. We were obviously upset but he made the process as bearable as these things can be. I hope he gets to read this review, or at least is told about it. He's a credit to the practice, and needs to be held on to (take note, managers). A kind professional, good with upset clients and lovely with animals - Burnley's James Herriot
