#2 Vet in Chorley, Lancashire
Medivet Chorley, also known as Hillcrest Animal Hospital, is a well-regarded veterinary clinic in Chorley, Lancashire. It boasts a commendable 4.5-star rating based on an extensive 643 reviews, suggesting a generally high level of satisfaction among clients. The clinic is notable for its 24/7 emergency veterinary services and functions as a veterinary nurse training facility, indicating a commitment to both animal care and professional development.
The reviews highlight a caring and competent team, with several clients expressing gratitude for the exceptional treatment their pets received. For instance, kathrynmcd1 praised the staff for their outstanding care of her labrador, although she noted concerns about the pricing of certain drugs. Julie Goodier shared a positive experience of adopting a cat with the clinic's support, while Julia Shepard appreciated the attentive care her pet received during an emergency. Jacqui Richards echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the friendly staff and thorough care provided to her pet hamster.
However, not all feedback is entirely positive. One reviewer, Bethany Ralphs, reported an unsatisfactory experience involving miscommunication and a perceived lack of urgency in addressing her pet's needs, which contrasts with the clinic's otherwise strong reputation.
Despite this isolated negative review, the clinic's overall rating and numerous positive testimonials reflect a reliable and compassionate service. The clinic's transparent pricing, as criticized by some, could be an area for improvement. Nonetheless, Medivet Chorley remains a trusted choice for many pet owners in the area, with its dedicated staff and comprehensive services.

The team at Chorley MediVet are exceptional, took care of my labrador exceptionally well, I cannot praise the care you have provided enough. But MEDIVET as a business practice, you should be ashamed at the fees you charge, 750% mark-up on some of the drugs prescribed is not a business model I can condone. I've only left 5 stars, because the team need to know they are doing a mega job and i am very grateful. We are insured, so it does not really matter, but for some, in state of need for their beloved animals, it is too much. I absolutely am happy to pay for skills, equipment, experience, training, premises, etc, I understand running a business, and one that has exceptional staff is a challenge, but the mark up on some components, as a group practice, really should be reviewed.

Absolutely lovely staff, I and my sonhad been feeding the cat for awhile unknown if the cat had an owner, to find out the cat didn't. They looked after him so well. I have since adopted the cat myself, they are a fantastic caring team.

We brought our pet hamster as she had developed a bald patch by her hip. It was easy to sign up and book an appointment. The staff were so friendly and loved interacting with our pet. The vet was great, they did a thorough health check and were able to treat her skin condition. I witnessed a lady coming to collect her pets ashes and the receptionist was so good with her and talked so highly of her pet. Definitely has a family feel and care about the animals they treat.

Rang them as our own vets were closed, were told it was a £200 fee which was fine. They told us to ring our own vets and go to their out of hours. When we explained that Salford was too far and Chorley was a lot closer, they told us it was fine to come in and to come as soon as we can as he “needs to be seen”. We drove 30 minutes there for the receptionist to tell us we should go back to our own vets. We explained we had spoken on the phone to someone who said we could come in. She went in the back where I heard someone say “yes it’s fine just get a few details from them”. Next thing a vet comes out and basically gives us no option but to go back to our own vet, giving us multiple reasons why we should leave. The waiting room was completely empty. Meanwhile, nobody had looked at our dog whose eyes were weeping puss. Called our own vets and confirmed he should be seen straightaway. Really poor service for a ‘24 hour vets’.
