The Mount Veterinary Practice is an independent practice (described by reviewers as “not a franchise”), and it’s also an RCVS Accredited Vet Nurse Training Practice. The website indicates it handles a wide range of small pets (including dogs, cats and several small mammals) and offers out-of-hours service. In recent reviews, owners repeatedly describe unrushed consultations with clear explanations, and several mention end-of-life support with thoughtful aftercare (for example, providing a paw print and a small keepsake of fur when ashes were ready).

Unfortunately my dog passed away, and from the first phone call to the practice, they were all wonderful, very sympathetic and helpful, when my dogs ashes were ready, they had a paw print and some of her fur in a bottle, which I was very touched by, I would recommend this vet practice to anyone

This is probably the best veterinarian practice I have ever been to. All the vets and nurses are very kind and compassionate. And the practice staff are wonderful also. It's a busy practice for a reason. They are very reasonable and not a franchise doubling the costs. Thankyou to Ian for the kindness he showed Lilly and us when she passed. He made it so she slipped peacefully away.

Absolutely horrible place. Staff are incompetent. Did scans on the much loved family dog but didn't forward them to the out if hours vets they referred us to.so they had to do the scans again. Money grabbing heartless people. AVOID.

We recently transferred the care of Pixie my mum’s beloved German shepherd to Ian and his team at The Mount Veterinary Practice. Pixie was elderly and had been struggling with mobility issues due to Arthritis. At our request Ian and a nurse came to the house to assess Pixie and we discussed Pixie’s options. Ian was extremely professional, courteous and kind. He explained everything we needed to know in a very calm way. With the help and advice from Ian we made the decision to have Pixie put to sleep. Pixie was in pain and we couldn’t have her suffering. Ian and his nurse helped us get Pixie comfortable. Ian was amazing with Pixie and so kind and respectful. Ian didn’t rush us and even let Pixie have 4 of her favourite treats prior to being sedated. We cannot thank Ian and his nurse enough for their understanding, compassion and efficient clinical skills. So grateful for Ian helping us through this most difficult time. I would highly recommend Ian and his team and I will be transferring the care of my own pets to The Mount View Practice. Thank you from Pixie, mum, Elise and Jen.

I changed my 2 dogs to them a few weeks ago. Extremely friendly and caring staff at this independent vet practice. The first assessment appointment was calm and unrushed. The vet took a long time getting to know the dogs histories while he gave them a very thorough examination. At each stage he gave good advice about possible future treatments that could be considered, and explained clearly any choices. Both dogs were giving rabies injections ready to go to the EU. Altogether he took around 40 minutes, and went into a lot of detail. Over the last few weeks the reception staff have been very helpful providing certificates and advice on a very timely manner. Recommend as a caring, professional team.
